My First Speed Painting Video

Over the summer I tested out this video-capturing software, Screenflow, to see how well it would record my digital paintings. I would have to say I'm very impressed how it turned out. However, I only used the free-trial version, so that would explain the 'Demo' copyright in the middle of the video. That being said, the video is on my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbXwYWnbb6k&feature=g-upl Hope you enjoy!

Updated Artwork

Wow, I realized I haven't been on here in ages. I guess one of the reasons is I've been very busy these last few months with painting and such. Here are some of the works I have completed.

DeviantArt Contest Entry

This is my submission for the "Dodge Inspired By You" contest found on deviantArt.  The details for this contest are basically to create a piece of art that reflects some sort of inspiring quality or element of the Dodge Dart.  I probably would've gone with a more dynamic look if I started a second entry (You're allowed to submit more than one piece).  However, working in digital takes too long for me to finish even one.  Well we won't know till May 15th, when the contest ends, if my entry is a semi-finalist or not.  Wish me luck!

The Flooding

One of my top moments back in high school was when my art piece, "The Flooding" won 1st prize at the annual West High Art Show in 2008 when I was a junior.  The media I used were prisma colored pencils, and the style of art I was going for was surrealism.  The concept behind the whole piece was that the entire universe had completely flooded underwater in a post apocalyptic theme.  In theory, the only living species to survive such a flood would of course be the fish.  With the increased amount of roaming ability, the fish adapt over time and are able to grow to the size of planets.  The eyeballs are just part of the surrealism style.  That in a nutshell is my idea of a good post apocalyptic concept.

The Beginning of an Artist

It's about time I started my artist blog, woo!  I swear if I had to list one weakness of mine, procrastination would have to be one of the top three.  To add a little more perspective, my profile for this was already created back in October 2011.
If you haven't already known, I am not currently in school anymore.  I attended Ringling College of Art & Design in the fall of 2009 as a Game Art & Design major.  Unfortunately due to financial reasons, I withdrew the second semester of my freshmen year and left the paradise that was Sarasota, Florida.
Living back home in New Hampshire, I am now a self taught artist.  In my free time, I am constantly drawing in order to improve my skill (as well as my portfolio) and progress as a high quality artist.  My passion in life is to create awesome and inspiring artwork in the entertainment industry as a concept artist/illustrator (and maybe even start my own graphic novel or two)  We'll see how it goes.  Hope you enjoy! =)
